Prakash Climate-resilient,crop,varieties,India 203-209 2 (5) September, 2026 Climate change poses increasing risks to Indian agriculture, particularly rainfed farming, through drought, heat, erratic rainfall, floods and salinity. Climate-resilient crop varieties can reduce these risks and support stable productivity and food security. India has made significant progress in developing varieties tolerant to major abiotic stresses, with successful examples in rice, groundnut and other crops.
